FFC supports freedom of association at Amazon UK Facility

Friends Fiduciary has joined fellow investors signing on to a letter asking Amazon to recognize UK union GMB following reports of anti-union intimidation at the company’s facility in Coventry. The company’s actions in response to the workers organizing at the facility are misaligned with Amazon’s commitment to the International Labour Organization’s Core Conventions and the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights as well as the company’s stated values on human rights including respect for workers’ rights to join or form a union “without fear of reprisal, intimidation, or harassment.” Such misalignment can represent clear risk to long term shareholder value.
