During the last five years, FFC has marketed our “new” Planned Giving program to Quaker meetings, schools and organizations. We are grateful for the success of the program, which exceed $10 million by the end of 2006. Planned gifts to date will benefit more than 45 Quaker organizations and Friends meetings. As we continue to get the word out about how FFC can provide Planned Giving Services, we realize that there are other ways we can help the development efforts of Friends.
FFC has developed two tools that may help your organization. The first is an updated version of our Planned Giving brochure. The brochure focuses on what is a planned gift and how can it help you build a secure financial foundation for the future. The second tool is a simple Powerpoint presentation (available electronically or in hard copy) that will help development staff (or others) begin a conversation about Planned Giving with their boards, school committees or business meetings. In addition to these resources and our biannual Fundraising Conference (next one in fall of 2009), FFC will continue to find ways and resources to support your Planned Giving marketing efforts. In the meantime, remember that the key to success with any development plan is consistent and frequent communication. This includes listening to your donors as well as providing information. After all, development is a building process. Success won’t arrive overnight because it takes time to build a strong foundation.
